Beaverhead County has revised our Subdivision Regulations!

Local governments are required under the Montana Subdivision and Platting Act to adopt regulations that are consistent with the State’s regulations. The rationale for regulating land divisions is to foster orderly growth and development while ensuring the natural environment, public health and safety are protected.  To learn about laws regarding Subdivision Regulations you can look at Montana Code Annotated (MCA) Title 76, Chapter 3 at this link.

Beaverhead County has revised our Subdivision Regulations to comply with the 2023 Legislative laws and our recently adopted Growth Policy.  Please review the revised Subdivision Regulations at this link.

There will be two Public Hearings where you can provide input on the proposed Subdivision Regulations:

  • 1:00pm, Thursday, January 18, 2024, Commissioners Meeting Room
  • 10:00am, Monday, January 29, 2024, Commissioners Meeting Room
